Amy Helman, professional violinist and teacher, has been teaching at the Belmont Academy since 2009. She holds a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Vanderbilt University. Ms. Helman also received her Suzuki teacher training from Carol Smith at the Blair School of Music and has earned certification of violin Books 1 through 4 from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Ms. Helman maintains an active performance schedule, playing with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Kentucky of Bowling Green, and other regional ensembles. She has performed live on the Grand Ole Opry stage, toured with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and plays chamber music for all types of special events. Through the Suzuki method, Ms. Helman strives to impart a lifelong love and respect of music to all of her students.
