Tim Williams
Tim Williams - Saxaphone
 

Timothy Williams is a native of Rochester, New York where he was born into a musical family. Growing up in a family of musicians allowed Timothy to be inspired by many genres of music and he started playing saxophone in the 4th grade after becoming interested in jazz. Under the tutelage of Mr. Duvid Smering, of Corning, New York, Timothy became an avid competitor of the NYSSMA All-County, Area All-State and All-State competitions. During his senior year, he was selected to join the New York State All-State Symphonic Band, under the direction of composer and conductor, Mr. Robert W. Smith. He was awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz award, the Patrick S. Gilmore Band award and numerous soloist awards.

Timothy pursued his education in Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended Belmont University for five years. During this time, he studied under Dr. Jeffrey Kirk and Mr. Rahsaan Barber, receiving a Bachelors Degree in both Commercial Music Performance and Music Education from Belmont University. Today, he is the Band Director at Madison Middle School in Madison, Tennessee. He is also an active freelance musician in the Nashville community. In Nashville, he has played the role of band member and solo artist in many events such as the Music City Jam and has opened for celebrities such as Tim Conway, Mike Huckabee and James Earl Jones. Timothy’s performance background spans a wide variety of musical styles, including jazz, blues, fusion, rock, pop, and classical.
