Bob Chandler - Saxophone and clarinet
As a saxophonist, Bob has performed with the Four Tops, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circuses, the Impressions, the Platters, Sam Moore, Rich Little, Sawyer Brown, and the revival of the Broadway musical Gypsy staring Tyne Daily. Bob was also commissioned to compose original music for A Streetcar Named Desire, programmed by the Chattanooga Ballet in 1991. Bob holds a Bachelor of Music from Middle Tennessee State University and has completed graduate coursework at both the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and MTSU.
Bob is the instrumental music director and fine arts department chair at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. He has seventeen years of experience in school music education; ten of those are at FRA. Bob has been named a Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts Outstanding Teacher, FRA Teacher of the Year, and has been included in Who’s Who of American Teachers.
