Private Music Lessons

Belmont Academy offers weekly private music lessons in a variety of emphasis areas, including piano, strings, guitar, and voice (select winds and brass available on request). Traditional lesson options are offered in all areas. Additionally, Suzuki lessons are available for strings students.

Suzuki Group Lessons

Suzuki lessons for string students also include a group lesson component. In addition to weekly private lessons, Suzuki students also take part in up to 7 group lessons. Group lessons are organized by book level, and are scheduled throughout each fall and spring semester.


In addition to private lesson offerings, Belmont Academy offers music elective classes including Introductions to Music Theory and Music History.

Music Theory

This 10-week course is offered each fall semester, starting in September.

Topics covered include review of music theory fundamentals (staff, clef and notes), followed by the study of key signatures, scales, intervals, inversions, chord structures, music analysis and more!

This class is recommended for students in 3rd grade and above, who are able to read music (either treble or bass clef). No text is required. Cost is $350.00 (Sibling Discounts Available). Click here to Register Now!

Music History

This 10-week course is offered each spring semester, starting in January.

This is a lecture/discussion style class is a survey course that traces the development of music from its early roots in Ancient Greece through the 20th century. Students will learn about key composers and their compositions and will listen to lots of music.

This class is recommended for students in 3rd grade and above. No text is required. Cost is $200.00 (Sibling Discounts Available). Click here to Register Now!
